About

I'm Valentin. I dropped out of Epitech in third year to start a software consultancy. Ran it for 4 years, worked with 6+ startups at various stages of "we need to ship this yesterday." Then I went to Societe Generale as a tech lead in investment banking, and now I run the engineering team at Stamus Networks, a cybersecurity company.

Most of my work has been around systems that process a lot of data - log pipelines doing 1TB+/day, Elasticsearch clusters eating 40k events/sec, that sort of thing. I've also done my share of frontend, distributed systems, embedded software, and whatever else the job needed.

I like working on hard infrastructure problems. I also like managing engineers, though I'm not willing to stop writing code to do it.

Stack

Go, TypeScript, React, Python. Kubernetes, ArgoCD, OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, NixOS, Docker, PostgreSQL. I pick up whatever is needed - I've shipped production code in C++, Rust, Haskell, and C# too.

What I'm looking for

Remote roles, either eng leadership or staff+ IC. I care about the product being technically interesting more than the job title. No Bac+5, so companies that filter on diplomas aren't a good fit anyway.
